1,390 Steps | 232 meters | 100 % challenge!
Welcome to Western Europe's highest Tower Run!

It’s just you and Germany’s highest viewing platform – and the best thing about it is the climb up. Does that mean it’s all about the journey? Well, not quite. Because once you make it to the test tower’s panoramic viewing platform, you can enjoy a stunning view over the Black Forest.

The TK Elevator TOWERRUN is open to everyone, and our volunteers will be making plenty of noise as they cheer you on all the way to the top!

Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned competitor, an athlete or firefighter – we’ve got you covered! The TOWERRUN strikes the perfect balance: tough enough for elite athletes, do-able enough for the rest of us.

Individual

Individual

Competitors tackle the tower on their own, against the clock. Conquering the tower is about more than climbing the 1,390 steps – getting to the top takes huge reserves of mental strength too.

Teams

Teams

Entrants face the challenge of the tower in teams of two. Only teams prepared to work together and push each other on will succeed!

Firefighters

Firefighters

The mother of all challenges, and a real sporting highlight for any firefighter. Climb the tower together in pairs – and in full kit, of course! Both team members must start and finish together.

Start & Finish

TK Elevator test tower, Berner Feld 60, 78628 Rottweil

Towerrun

The aim of the TOWERRUN is to conquer the 1,390 steps from the ground floor to the viewing platform. Once you’ve had enough of admiring the view, the panorama lift will take you back down to the ground – where you can celebrate your achievement!

You can take on the tower on your own, in teams, or even in the team relay. Firefighter teams can compete in their own dedicated categories. Competitors must climb the tower in full protective gear, with or without connecting their breathing apparatus. By the way, the firefighters category is also open to anyone else who has to wear breathing apparatus in their job.

Whatever category you choose, entrants start their climbs one at a time at set intervals, so you’ll have time and space to enjoy your run!

The Test Tower

TK Elevator Test Tower

TK Elevator’s 246-meter (807ft) test tower is a world first, and a fitting testament to the engineer’s art, to progress, and to innovation. The test tower is the perfect environment for pioneering research and development. In this very building, TK Elevator is testing and certifying the elevator solutions of tomorrow; from MULTI, the world’s first ropeless, horizontal elevator, to high-speed elevators that race through their shafts at speeds of up to 18 meters per second. Another unique feature of the test tower is that it’s open to the public, making it a major visitor attraction for Rottweil and the surrounding area.

It is also home to Germany’s highest public viewing platform. At 232 meters (761ft) above the ground, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view stretching all the way to the Alps.

Despite its imposing height, the tower’s glass-fibre cloth covering gives it a graceful and sophisticated look. The cloth is tightly woven at the base of the building but reveals more and more of the tower towards the top, reflecting the light in various different ways depending on the season and time of day, and giving the tower a different look and feel as the day wears on and the weather conditions change.

A maximum of 30 starting slots are available in the elite block. If we receive more than 30 applications, the available places will be allocated by the organisers in consultation with Towerrunning Germany. The starting order will be set by the organiser in consultation with Towerrunning Germany.

No entrant has any automatic entitlement to ‘elite’ status.

Each flight is made up of 10 steps, after which you’ll need to turn 180° to your right to attack the next one.
